The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has said the five aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) popular known as the G-5 will soon announce their preferred presidential candidate ahead of the election that comes up on the 25th of February.
VANTAGE NEWS reports that Wike made this known on Tuesday at St. Martin’s Anglican Church, Omagwa Town, in Ikwerre during the inauguration of the Rivers Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Local Government Campaign.
Wike stated that the aggrieved governors will soon conclude talks with their preferred candidate and make the announcement as soon as possible.
The governor stated that the people of the state understood their political importance and would not play a second fiddle in the forthcoming election.
Wike added that Rivers people had been sensitised to vote for the candidates of PDP for only the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly.
“As we finish from here now, you’ll go home and start working before the appropriate time when we will ring the bell, when you hear the bell being rung, know that the decision has been taken,” he said.
