Atiku and Wike

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has stated that he has met with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike over the prolonged leadership crisis rocking the party.

VANTAGE NEWS reports that Atiku said by this when asked why the PDP is yet to resolve the crisis rocking the party during a town hall discussion hosted by Channels Television on Sunday.

The former vice president who declared that he has personally met the Rivers State Governor two times in Port Harcourt, two times in Abuja, and one time in London added that he is waiting for Wike’s response.

Atiku said, “I have met Wike two times in Port Harcourt, two times in Abuja, one time in London, personally.

“It is not on my part; it is on the other side; I am waiting for him.”

Recall that Wike and four other governors vowed not to support Atiku if the party’s National Chairman, Iyiorcha Ayu remains in charge of the party.

The issue has lingered since Wike lost the presidential ticket and the vice presidential slot to Atiku and the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa respectively.
