The spokesperson for the Presidential Campaign Council of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Daniel Bwala has said that presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu may be ruled our of next year’s presidential race.
According to the PDP chieftain, Tinubu may no take part in the election if his alleged drug trafficking case gets to court.
Bwala, who is the spokesman for Atiku Abubakar/Ifeanyi Okowa presidential campaign said on Thursday that drug trafficking, whether in Nigeria or abroad, is a criminal offence and that if found guilty, Tinubu may lose participation in the coming presidential election.
The PDP chieftain said this in reaction to the drug trafficking controversy surrounding the former Governor of Lagos State.
VANTAGE NEWS reports that a viral document released by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois identified Tinubu as a defendant in a court case accusing him of involvement in drug trafficking.
In the document, evidence of Tinubu’s alleged involvement in narcotics and money laundering about 30 years ago resurfaced.
The matter ended in a settlement, with Tinubu forfeiting the sum of $460,000 in one of his accounts.
