The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the endorsement of the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike who has been in a political battle with the party.
Recall that Wike who is aggrieved following the conduct of the presidential primaries of the PDP had during the week endorsed Sanwo-Olu for a second term despite his party having a candidate, Olajide Adeniran aka Jandor in the race.
Despite that, the party said it would carry on with moves to reconcile with the governor and others in his camp that include Okezie Ikpeazu of Rivers State; Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
VANTAGE NEWS reports that Wike’s endorsement of Sanwo-Olu is coming amid reports that Adediran is in the camp that is supporting the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the party’s national chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.
The national publicity secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, while speaking to journalists said the party had a process for dealing with such matters.
“The party will go through that process, but the ultimate goal is to reconcile every member because of the higher calling to rescue this country,” he said.
