The post primary election crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is far from ending following the decision of some aggrieved governors led by Nyesom Wike of Rivers State not to support Atiku Abubakar’e presidential ambition if Iyorchia Ayu remains as National Chairman.
Other governors in the camp of Wike include the governors of Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; Benue, Samuel Ortom; Oyo, Seyi Makinde, and Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu.
The governor’s who met in Enugu over the weekend are insisting that the national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, must be replaced with a Southerner before they could participate in the PDP presidential campaign.
A top source disclosed to Daily Sun that senior members of the PDP are pressuring Atiku, a former vice-president, to accept the demands of the Wike group so as to unite the party before the 2023 election.
It was learnt that Atiku is seriously considering meeting the demands of the aggrieved governors.
