The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu has denied allegations that he paid housing allowance into the accounts of some members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
It was widely reported on Thursday that some PDP NWC members returned the sum of N93.6 million allegedly paid into their account by Ayu.
It was alleged that Ayu made the payment from the over N10bn realised from the party’s presidential primaries.
VANTAGE NEWS reports that the NWC members that returned the money to the party include, the National Vice Chairman (South-West), Olasoji Adagunodo, the Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja; National Vice Chairman (South), Dan Orbih and National Women Leader, Stella Affah-Attoe.
It was also gathered that some other members of the NWC have started remitting various amounts to the party.
Reacting through his media aide, Simon Imobo-Tswam, Ayu told The Punch that he didn’t order the payment of money into the accounts of PDP NWC members.
He added that he has not seen the letters written by the concerned PDP NWC members.
“We have not seen the letters. So, I can’t say anything for now,” he said.
