Residents in the ATC area of Jalingo were terrified on Sunday night after a heavy sound of an explosion was heard in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.
VANTAGE NEWS reports that the explosion was confirmed by the state police command through its Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Usman Abdullahi.
Confirming the incident to Daily Post, an eyewitness disclosed that the incident occurred at a drinking joint.
The source could not ascertain whether there were casualties as at the time of filing this report, as everyone around was said to have taken to their heels after the explosion.
Another source reported that the explosion was not a bomb blast but a gas cylinder explosion.
