The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has said that he likes the presidential ambition of former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi.
Umahi, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) declared on Friday that he is ready to host the Labour Party presidential flagbearer publicly whenever he visits Ebonyi.
Vantage News reports that Umahi stated this while appearing live on Arise TV programme today.
Umahi also denied viral reports of him saying that Obi would not get a single vote from Ebonyi in the 2023 elections.
He said Obi is his friend and he likes what the former Anambra governor is doing politically.
Umahi said: “I never in all my outings and utterances mentioned Peter Obi.
“Peter Obi is my friend, I’m going to host him in Ebonyi State and I will host him publicly. I like what he’s doing, and it’s very encouraging.”
Governor Umahi accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his state of orchestrating the narrative about his stance on Obi.
