The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has cautioned Nigerians against attacking officers of the force.
In a statement released through the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Monday, the IGP warned that on no ground should any civilian assault uniformed officers.
The IGP lamented over recent videos where some Nigerians were seen in a brawl with police officers across the country.
Baba in the communique issued on Monday at the force headquarters in Abuja warned that attacks on police officers and men in the line of duty would no longer be tolerated under whatever guise, as the Force holds the lives of its personnel sacrosanct.
He directed that those who engage in the assault on police officers, irrespective of preceding factors, are made to face the full wrath of the law via swift prosecution in courts of competent jurisdiction.
