Four Catholic Reverend Sisters who were kidnapped in Imo State on Sunday have regained their freedom.

The sisters who were abducted somewhere along Okigwe-Enugu Road were released “unconditionally”, according to a statement by The Sisters of Jesus the Saviour Generalate Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Secretary General of the Generalate, Sr Zita Ihedoro, who signed the statement appreciated all the people who prayed and gave them moral support during the difficult time.

The names of the latest victims are sisters Johannes Nwodo, Christabel Echemazu, Liberata Mbamalu and Benita Agu.

The Okigwe-Enugu Road has become notorious for kidnappers.

Last week, a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Chinedu Nwadike was kidnapped along the road and was released two days after.
