The post primary election crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a positive twist on Thursday following the meeting between the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

VANTAGE NEWS reports that after long hours of meeting, both parties agreed to set up a joint consultation committee to settle their differences.

Recall that the face-to-face meeting between the two politicians held on Thursday at the private residence of Professor Jerry Gana, a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT).

A source told VANTAGE NEWS that the joint committee is expected to meet from now till next week, and to submit a brief to the party afterwards.

The source expressed optimism that the lingering crisis would soon end as the meeting yielded positive results.
