Some determined Nigerians were seen in Nsukka, Enugu State, waiting patiently to take part in the voter registration exercise that ended last night.
VANTAGE NEWS had reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) set July 31, 2022 as the deadline for the voter registration exercise ahead of the 2023 general election.
An applicant at the registration centre located in the premises of the INEC office in Nsukka, Joshua Ugwuanyi told our correspondent that he resolved to register for the exercise even if it meant spending the night at the venue.
“I have been going to different places to register but never succeeded. But since today is the deadline I’m determined to sleep here. I must be registered,” the determined Joshua stated.
Another applicant who spoke on the condition of anonymity thanked the officials of INEC including the adhoc staff of the commission for continuing the exercise very late into the night.
“I must commend the officials here for staying back this long in other to register everybody present,” she said.
