Senator Elisha Abbo has again expressed displeasure with the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu’s choice of a muslim vice.
On Sunday, July 10, Tinubu announced he had picked former Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, another muslim for the 2023 presidential election as his running mate because he is competent.
Vantage News earlier reported that Senator Abbo resigned immediately from a support group for Tinubu.
Tinubu’s decision has been welcomed with mixed reaction as some were opposed to the Muslim-Muslim ticket, The Christian coummunity felt it is a slight on them for Tinubu to pick a Muslim instead of a Christian.
Abbo who is a member of the ruling party APC in a fresh interview with AIT said Tinubu owed Christians in Nigeria an apology.
”I think it is insulting to say no competent Christian to be a Vice President. How competent is Tinubu to be President? If you say my father is not competent, no Bishop is competent, no Christian Professor is competent? I think that is annoying, that is insulting and he should apologise to Christians for saying that. He should come and apologise to Christians for saying that… that it is based on competency…That is insulting.
I have said this before. This shouldn’t be what Christians are crying out for. Muslims should be the ones to take up this fight and say we do not accept this because it is against the Muslim faith.”
