The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has stated that the main opposition party is making moves to placate aggrieved members following the conclusion of the party’s primaries.
Recall that the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose had in a series of tweets days ago stated that he cannot support a northern candidate as the party’s presidential flag bearer.
Fayose had stated that it was the turn of the South to produce the next president of the country, adding that he would soon announce his preferred candidate.
Similarly, the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom in an interview during the week expressed grievance of the failure of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to emerge as the party’s vice presidential candidate despite being the preferred choice of the committee set up to suggest a running mate for Atiku.
Reacting through his verified Twitter handle, Atiku on Thursday stated that “the PDP will remain united.”
He added that “we are taking action to address the feelings of all party members. The unity in our community is my priority. Our resolve to unify Nigeria starts in our party and moves to the community, then on to society.”
The @OfficialPDPNig will remain united. Focus on our actions. We are taking action to address the feelings of all party members. The unity in our community is my priority. Our resolve to unify Nigeria starts in our party and moves to the community, then on to society.

When they speak, I listen. I do not only listen. Appropriate actions have been taken, are being taken, and will continue to be advanced. -AA
