The killings of innocent Nigerians due to blasphemy has been condemned by President Muhammadu Buhari.
VANTAGE NEWS had reported that a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, Deborah Samuel was in May gruesomely murdered over alleged blasphemy.
Other killings as a result of alleged blasphemy have been recorded since the murder of Deborah in Sokoto.
Reacting over the killings during a recent interview with Bloomberg News, Buhari stated that nobody has the right to take the life of another.
Buhari also called on Nigerians to tolerate each other and to live peacefully.
He said “No person has the right to take the law into his or her own hands. Christianity and Islam, our two Great Faiths and their Great Books have far more in common than they have apart.
“Nigeria has a long tradition of tolerance that we must draw on, and we must strive to find common ground. What comes out of this tragedy is to cherish what we share, while at the same time respecting our differences.”
