There was nothing to separate Ghana and Nigeria in the first leg of a World Cup play-off as both teams settled for a 0-0 draw at the Babayara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday.
A penalty decision that would have resulted in a goal for the Super Eagles was overruled by VAR.
Following a review of the decision in the closing stages of the West African derby, the VAR found that Ghana midfielder Iddrisu Baba was fouled before he handled the ball in the penalty box.
Both teams had chances of breaking the deadlock with the defence and goalkeepers doing enough to ensure that the encounter ended goalles and leaving it to the return leg in Abuja on Tuesday to find out who will make it to the World Cup between the two teams.
