Efe Erinoja, a 42-year-old man is currently in police custody for allegedly beating his wife to death in Orerokpe community, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
VANTAGE NEWS reports that the deceased is a 36-year-old woman identified as Faith Ekpe.
It was gathered that Efe committed the crime around 6.30 am on Wednesday after a misunderstanding with his wife, Faith.
Although the cause of the disagreement was not yet known, sources revealed that neighbours rushed to the scene when they heard a loud cry of the deceased who was already dead by the time help arrived.
Our Correspondent gathered that Efe fled the scene when he realized the gravity of his crime.
He was later apprehended by the police and is currently in custody.
Faith’s corpse has since been deposited at the Ariemughere mortuary, Orerokpe.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DDP Bright Edafe, said an investigation into the incident had commenced.
