Karim Benzema was in a scintillating form as he scored a hat-trick to help Real Madrid come back from two goals down to knock Paris Saint Germain out of the Champions League.
The Parisians took a deserved first-half lead through Kylian Mbappe’s giving them a two-goal aggregate lead which looked to have put Mauricio Pochettino’s side well on course for the last eight.
But a mistake from PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma proved the catalyst for a dramatic comeback with Benzema turning home after the Italian dawdled in possession.
Benzema got his second following Luka Modric’s driving run and intricate pass as he levelled the tie against a clearly panicked PSG.
It took less than two minutes for the French striker to complete his hat-trick which put Madrid ahead in the tie and eventually through to the quarterfinal as they held on until the end of the game.
