The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has accused a former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar of taking delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for granted.
Wike, who was reacting to a statement made by Atiku that he will always take the presidential ticket of the party, said the outcome of this year’s presidential primary election will shock Nigerians.
The governor assured that the whole party members would support the candidacy of anyone that emerges as the party’s flag bearer in the 2023 presidential election.
Wike, spoke in Port Harcourt on Sunday in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri.
He said, “I didn’t expect him (Atiku), frankly speaking, to say that he will always take the ticket of the party.
“That is going too far and taking the delegates for granted.”
Wike promised to ensure that the PDP returns to power in 2023.
“People should watch, there will be shock as far as the PDP convention is concerned.
“People should watch what is going to happen. People like to underrate so many persons and it is not good in politics,” he added.
