A former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has called on the federal government to speed up the process of evacuating Nigerians from Ukraine.
Obi, who was the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019, asked the FG to emulate the likes of India in it’s response to the situation.
In a tweet on Monday, Obi urged the federal government to ensure that Nigerians, especially students cross over to neighbouring countries.
Obi said, “In the light of the challenges faced by Nigerians, a majority of which are students in crossing the Ukrainian border and finding safe haven in neighbouring countries, it is incumbent on the FG to accelerate the process of evacuating our citizens like India, & other countries.”
