Chelsea of England was crowned the champions of the world on Saturday after defeating South American champions, Palmieras 2-1 in extra time in the FIFA World Club championship played in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
Romelu Lukaku gave The Blues the lead before the Brazilians equalised through a penalty ten minutes after the opener.
Kai Havertz converted an extra-time penalty to hand Chelsea the only trophy that was missing from its cabinet.
Chelsea defender, Thiago Silva, won Player of the FIFA Club World Cup tournament (Golden Ball) award and also Player of the Match award on the night.
He becomes the second defender to ever win the award after former Real Madrid player, Sergio Ramos.
Silva beat the likes of Palmeiras stars, Dudu and Danilo who won the Silver and Bronze balls respectively to win the Golden Ball award.
The Fair Play award went to Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta.
