All is not well in the camp of Tunisia, opponents of the Super Eagles of Nigeria in today’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) round of 16 clash in Cameroon.
VANTAGE NEWS reports that coach of the side, Mondher Kebaier will not be in the dugout in today’s match against Nigeria after he tested positive for COVID-19.
At a pre-match briefing on Saturday, Tunisia’s assistant coach, Jalal Al-Qadri, said at least 12 players in the Tunisian team had tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the game against Nigeria.
Kebaier did not attend Saturday’s pre-match press conference because he is currently in isolation alongside the affected squad members.
One of the affected players is Wahbi Khazri, the captain who scored twice in their 4-0 win over Mauritania.
Others are Aissa Laidouni, Dylan Bronn, Ghaylène Chaalali, Ellyes Skhiri, Anis Ben Slimane, Mohamed Romdhane, Ali Maâloul, Ben Hmida, Aymen Dahmen Yoann Touzgha and Issam Jebali.
