Breaking: Former Governor Of Oyo State, Alao-Akala Is Dead

A former governor of Oyo State, Christopher Alao-Akala has died at the age of 71.

News of his death was made public by the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Olatunde Abdluazeez on Wednesday.

Alao-Akala, who was also a former deputy governor of Oyo State was born in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, on June 3, 1950.

Speaking to The Punch, Abdluazeez, said, “the news of his death is out.”

“The news of his death is out. He did his best for the state. May his soul rest in peace,” he added.

Alao-Akala, became Governor of Oyo State following the impeachment of his former boss, Rashidi Ladoja.

He contested for the 2019 governorship election in Oyo State on the platform of the ADP but later defected to APC.
