No New Year’s Eve Celebrations In Morocco (See Why)

The government in Morocco on Monday announced a ban on New Year’s Eve celebrations due to rising cases of COVID-19.

The ban extends to parties in hotels, and tourist sites.

VANTAGE NEWS reports that the government ordered restaurants and cafes to close at 11.30 pm, adding that a curfew would be in place from midnight until 6:00 AM on January 1.

Morocco is currently trying to stop the spread of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus which was first detected in the country on December 15.
