South Africa needed just a point to make it to the final round of the qualification process for next year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
However, that was not to be as a result of a controversial penalty awarded to the Ghanaians in the first half of the encounter.
Some South Africans have taken to Twitter to react angrily over the decision of the Senegalese referee to award Ghana the penalty.

SAFA has two cases against Ghana and that's enough to approach FIFA for a rematch.

If MaMkhize was the President of SAFA… By now we would have woken up with breaking news that Dali Mpofu and his legal team have taken CAF to court for a rematch to be played against Ghana after Bafana Bafana were robbed yesterday.

If we lose SAFA must seek a replay like it happened with Senegal… something is amiss with refereeing in this Ghana vs Bafana Bafana game

I am confident SAFA will lodge a complaint and FIFA will warrant a replay of the match and Bafana Bafana will go through the next round.
The officials all of them will definitely be banned for life.— .. (@reign_gentleman) November 14, 2021
