The collation officer for Orumba North Local Government Area in the Anambra governorship election did not read out results from the LGA, as he claims his experience on the field was pathetic but “I thank God I’m alive.”
According to him, he signed the documents under duress.
The collation officer, Micheal Otu, said, “I signed the results, but I didn’t believe in the results.”
Otu also accused INEC officials attached to him of conniving with those who disrupted the electoral process. He said he was tear-gassed and almost collapsed.
The state returning officer, Florence Obi, asked Otu to produce the results, but he insisted he doesn’t believe in the result and is yet to read it out as mandated.
The state returning officer, Obi has called on the electoral officer accused by Otu to come clear the air on the allegations against him.

Obi said this is the only LGA she got a distressed call from during the election.
“I had to call the commissioner of police that the life of my staff was in danger,” she said.
Meanwhile, APGA agent, Victor Umeh, has accused the collation officer of being hired to destroy the election.
Umeh said his party won the election in the LGA, adding that Otu has no basis for his story.
The state returning officer, Obi collected the documents from Otu, and asked him to go. The results were not read out by Otu as has been the case all day.
