A former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, says protest is the constitutional right of the Nigerian youth.
Atiku, who was reacting over the memorial of the October 20, 2020 massacre of #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate also called for police reforms.
He tweeted, “Our youth mean well and deserve to be heard—it is their constitutional right and an essential component of democracy. On this day of the anniversary of protests for police reforms, I wish to restate the need for improved policing that protects the interest of the citizens.
“It is an opportunity the country cannot afford to miss.”
