The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the widespread crisis that rocked the party’s state congresses last Saturday.

In a statement, the PDP said the crisis shows that the APC lacks leadership direction and cohesion.

National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, in the statement titled, “APC’s Crisis-Ridden Congresses Explain Why Nigeria Is In Conflict, Says PDP,” added that APC leaders greed and lust for power.

The statement was issued in Abuja on Sunday.

VANTAGE NEWS reports that the APC state congresses held across the country on Saturday was marred by divisions and parallel congresses.

Ologbondiyan said, “The fractious congresses of the APC has shown how greed and lust for power by the APC leaders has created crisis in all facets of our national life.

“The APC congresses was a harvest of confusion in which APC leaders engaged in physical, verbal and emotional assault against another, while using their thugs to unleash mayhem on party members with charms and dangerous weapons.”

“The outcome of APC congresses in many of the states has shown that it is a party that lacks leadership direction and internal cohesion; a party of unruly people, who are averse to peace, which explains why our country is reeling in crisis under the APC.”
