President Muhammadu Buhari has said that Nigeria cannot ‘jump into development.”
According to Buhari who spoke on Thursday at the State House, Abuja, while playing host to Head of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa, Ahunna Eziakonwa, said the country must pass through the process of development.
According to Buhari, Nigeria “can’t do hop, step and jump, but must pass through the process of development.”
The President added that he appreciates the help and support of the international community and global bodies such as the United Nations Development Programme.
In a statement titled, ‘President Buhari appreciates UNDP for assistance to Nigeria’ and issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Buhari said the United Nations Development Programme deserves accolades for the assistance it renders to Nigeria in diverse ways, particularly in stabilizing the North-east.
Buhari stated that his administration is doing its best to rehabilitate Internally Displaced Persons, and return them to their ancestral homes.
