Anthony Joshua was on Saturday night taken to hospital with a suspected broken eye socket after his loss to Oleksandr Usyk.
VANTAGE NEWS had reported that USYK battered the British boxer in the bout and was subsequently declared winner by the Judges in a unanimous decision.
After the fight, promoter Eddie Hearn revealed the deposed heavyweight champ could not see properly after the ninth round of his heavy points defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
Joshua’s 18lb weight advantage over the former cruiserweight champion Usyk failed to count as the Ukrainian finished with a flourish in the final rounds.
USYK sealed a unanimous 117-112, 116-112 and 115-113 to take Joshua’s titles.
Joshua was escorted from the ring after the fight and taken to hospital for tests.
“I don’t know if he has broken his eye socket, it doesn’t look great.”
“He said he couldn’t see after the ninth round, obviously he was getting tagged a lot as well.
“His power looked like it had left him, the tank was empty and it was only heart which kept him on his feet in the 12th round,” Hear said.
