Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho was on Monday night returned to cell pending further investigation by Cour De’Appel De Cotonou.
VANTAGE NEWS had reported that Igboho was set to appear before the Beninois court on Monday.
Igboho was eventually returned to cell after a 13-hour hearing that was heard behind closed doors, which ended around 11:20 pm on Monday.
VANTAGE NEWS reports that the court limited attendance to the hearing to just lawyers involved, Igboho’s wife, Ropo, and a few other stakeholders.
Others that attended the hearing were denied access by security operatives present at the court.
Igboho was arrested in Cotonou alongside his wife, who is a German citizen on Monday, July 19, 2021, by the International Criminal Police Organisation at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, Republic of Benin while attempting to board a plane to Germany.
The case involving the activist was adjourned till Monday, July 26 after his earlier arraignment last Thursday.
Details of the hearing are still sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
