Senator Shehu Sani has said that the bandits terrorising many parts of northern Nigeria has taken the war to a new level with the ability to threaten the country’s aviation sector.
Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Assembly was reacting to the report that bandits shot down a Nigerian Air Force fighter jet.
He said this in a tweet through his verified Twitter handle on Monday
Recall that NAF after denying that the fighter jet was shot down, confirmed that bandits were responsible for the attack in a statement issued by the Director of Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.
According to Gabkwet, the fighter jet was returning from a successful air interdiction between the boundaries of Zamfara and Kaduna states when it came under heavy fire from bandits and crashed in Zamfara.
Reacting, Sani said, “The capacity of Bandits in the North to threaten Aviation takes the war to a new level.”
