The decision of the senate on Thursday to vote against the electronic transmission of election results did not go down well with many Nigerians.
Many of these aggrieved Nigerians took to Twitter to express their disatisfaction.
See reactions below:
Let's hope INEC and Civil Society rise to reject the unconstitutional abrogation of their full electoral powers and ceding of some of it to the rubber-stamp NASS and the NCC.
That amendment will not stand the test of time and must be challenged vigorously at the SC.

By approving the clause subjecting the operation of INEC an independent body like NASS itself, to NCC and Senate approval, Ahmed Lawan (Senate Leader) and Aliyu Sabi-Abdullahi (Hate Speech Bill sponsor) plotted a COUP against 1999 constitution of Nigeria.

Involving NASS in the process of transmission of result give the party with the dominance in the National Assembly the powers to approve or disapprove the release of the results of an election conducted by INEC.

I think it was 2 weeks ago I tweeted about the useless leadership of the PDP, weak NASS Minority leadership and lack of legislative agenda in the 9th NASS. All of this showed today in the Senate, with the 52-28 votes against electronic transmission of results

I like that we are paying attention to the Senate now. Too much attention is paid to the executive when we have another arm of the government much closer to us.
The NASS seat is one much easier to remove and replace. We only need organisation and signatures sent to INEC.
