A former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, has commended the Senate for rejecting the nomination of Lauretta Onochie, an aide to President Muhammadu Buhari.
VANTAGE NEWS reported that Onochie was rejected by the senate on the ground that her nomination violates the federal character principle.
Reacting, Jega told The Punch on Tuesday, that by their action, the Senators have “Distinguished themselves.”
He said “The Senators had on this matter ‘distinguished’ themselves. We hope that they would do better on the Electoral Bill 2021.”
