Senator Bukola Saraki has advised Nigerian youths to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the former governor of Kwara State, the power to change Nigeria is in the hands of youths.
While bemoaning that over 30 million young people have not registered to vote, the immediate past senate president said that only 29 million Nigerians voted in the 2019 general election.
Saraki said this in a tweet on Monday, the same day that INEC opened it’s portal for registration of voters ahead of the 2023 general election in the country.
He said, “The power to change Nigeria is in your hands. In 2019, only 29 million Nigerians came out to vote.
“Yet, over 30 million young people have not even registered to vote.
“INEC’s voter registration process begins today.
“So, what are you waiting for?
“I’ve got mine. #GoGetYours!”
