Ebonyi Commissioner Die In Auto Crash, Umahi Declares Holiday, Prayer

The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Infrastructure Concession and Development, Fidelis Nweze, died yesterday from injuries sustained from a car crash that occurred last Saturday.

Nweze, who is a two-time commissioner in the state, was on his way to Enugu when the ugly incident happened.

VANTAGE NEWS learnt that Nweze was in company of his driver when the car he was in rammed into a stationary vehicle at the busy Eke Obinagu axis of Enugu North Local Government Area at about 7.30pm.

It was gathered that his driver survived and is currently unconscious and receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, on Tuesday evening announced the death of Nweze.

Umahi said that Nweze died at the Intensive Care Unit of the Turkish Hospital, Abuja, where he was receiving treatment.

The Governor, who called for prayers, declared Wednesday (today) a public holiday across the state.
