Copa America: Messi Scores Spectacular Free Kick In Draw With Chile


Argentina Captain, Lionel Messi gave his side the lead in the ongoing Copa America by converting a beautiful free-kick in the 33rd minute of the encounter with former champions, Chile.

The 33-year-old Barcelona forward fired with his left foot and curved the ball perfectly to the upper right-hand corner and left Chile goalie Claudio Bravo on the ground after failing to stop the ball.

Messi’s 57th free-kick goal of his career surpassed Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo, who has 56.

Eduardo Vargas equalised in the 57th minute of the game by hitting a header to the bottom right corner after Arturo Vidal had his penalty kick saved.

In the other group match, Paraguay defeated Bolivia by 3-1.
