The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that tweeting is enshrined in Article 19 of the United Nations universal declaration of human rights.
According to Adeboye in a tweet on Monday, he will continue to tweet to members of his church domiciled in more than 170 nations and territories.
The tweet read, “The Redeemed Christian Church of God is domiciled in more than 170 nations and territories. The tweets here are in accordance with Article 19 of the United Nations universal declaration of human rights.”
Article 19 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights read, “Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.”
Recall that the federal government had indefinitely suspended twitter operations in Nigeria after the social media platform deleted a tweet by President Muhammadu Buhari that suggested the readiness of his government to repeat actions during the civil war that led to the death of millions of the Igbo.
