There has been serious outraged by some Nigerians on Twitter following warnings by President Muhammadu Buhari to treat promoters of rebellion in a language they will understand.
In a statement on Tuesday, the President had said, “Many of those misbehaving today are too young to be aware of the destruction and loss of lives that occurred during the Nigerian Civil War. Those of us in the fields for 30 months, who went through the war, will treat them in the language they understand.”
This statement did not go down well with many Nigerians as they have reacted to the President’s statement.
See some of the statements below:
When Buhari speaks to bandits,
He begs them. He appeals to them.
But when Buhari speaks to citizens,
He threatens us. He uses language that can be used to justify harm, violence and massacre against the same people he swore to protect.

I told you guys that the FG is behind these unknown gunmen, some of you Igbos with light brain were insisting it was IPOB. Buhari has been looking for a reason to repeat 1967. They did the testing microphone during #Endsars and nothing happened, now they have full confidence..

Mr President declared war on the South East. While Tolu typed those threats & hateful words for the Igbos, Festus Keyamo cheered Buhari on.
They’ve taken 97% vs 5% to a whole new level. You need no soothsayer to tell you the drums of war when you hear one. The world is watching.

Whoever is composing President Buhari’s tweets is doing a very terrible job.

Never in my life, did I ever believe that the President of my county will be threatening citizens from the South East on social media with civil war treatment.
Meanwhile, president Buhari, has never spoken this tough to killer Fulani heardsmen, Boko Haram and bandits. https://t.co/oOQJF9188t

…"will treat them in the language they understand".
– General Buhari
Well, you deployed the language on #20-10-20, so your threat is familiar

Buhari who is out, threatening igbos with genocide faulted Jonathan's crackdown on Boko Haram, a well known terrorist organization.
He must be stopped

Buhari basically said: we slaughtered your parents 30 years ago. We will slaughter you again. The Igbo is not only endangered but face genocide in Nigeria. Do you know see why the #SitAtHome was successful? It is never about IPOB or Kanu. It is about the survival of the Igbo. https://t.co/2g10hwC5Hs

President Buhari And His Fulani Oligarchy See The Igbos In The South East Region As A Conquered People. That Is Why They Can Boldly Threaten To Start Another Genocide Against Umu Igbo. Sadly, Ndigbo Don't Have Leaders Who Can Stand Up To Defend Their People. My Respect To MNK!!!
