Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of nepotism following the appointment of Farouk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff.
VANTAGE NEWS had reported that Yahaya who hails from Sokoto in the North West zone was appointed on Thursday to replace the former army chief, Ibrahim Attahiru, who died in a plane crash a week ago at the Kaduna International airport.
Reacting via his twitter handle, Kanu said that in Buhari’s administration, every security position must be occupied by a Fulani, a member of the president’s ethnic group.
He added that Buhari does not care about what people from the southern region feel about the appointment.
“This is how they roll. Quite frankly, they don’t give a damn. Every security position MUST be occupied by a Fulani,” he tweeted.
