Antonio Conte has left Inter Milan by mutual consent and Simone Inzaghi is reportedly likely to replace him as head coach of the Serie A champions.

Conte has agreed a deal with the club’s owners which will see him paid €7m for the final year of his contract, according to Sky Sports.

The 51-year-old, who had won the Scudetto previously with Juventus as well as a Premier League champion with Chelsea, led the Nerazzurri to a first top-flight title for over a decade in his second season at the helm.

But even as the club has won the league title in style, the frosty relationship between the manager and the club’s hierarchy have grown more readily noticeable over the future direction of the team, meaning Conte’s will now leave barely days after adding another honour to his collections.
