Late Chief Of Army Staff Attahiru Ibrahim, Seven Others Die In Kaduna Plane Crash

Prominent Nigerians have expressed shock over the military plane crash that led to the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and other military officials at the Kaduna International airport of Friday.

Reacting, a former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, described the incident as a monumental tragedy and a big blow to the country.

He said, “The Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Armed Forces, General Attahiru Ibrahim, has been killed in an air crash together with a number of his officers and aides. This is a monumental tragedy and a big blow to our nation. May their souls rest in peace & may God help Nigeria.

“I sense that a lot of changes are coming in our country very soon. Pray hard, have courage, have faith & stay, safe, strong and calm. The Lord of Hosts is with us. His will shall be done, His counsel shall stand, His purpose shall be established and His name shall be glorified!’

A former senator representing Kaduna Central described Attahiru’s death  as a national tragedy.

He said, “The death of the Chief of Army Staff Attahiru Ibrahim and others in a plane crash is a national tragedy.May their souls Rest In Peace.My deepest condolences to
@HQNigerianArmy, their families and the nation.”

“The death of Chief of Army Staff Lt.Gen Ibrahim Attahiru is shocking. We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return,” film maker, Bello Shagari said.

Minister of humanitarian affairs, Sadiya Umar Farouq said, “Innallilahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun. My heartfelt condolences to the families of Late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Attahiru Ibrahim, his staff officers, the Nigerian Airforce crew members, the military, and all Nigerians. May Allah forgive their shortcomings. Ameen”

In his condolence message, a former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, said the death of Attahiru sends a rude shock across the country.

He said, “It is a dark day for the nation. The loss of COAS Major Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and others today sends a rude shock across Nigeria and our friends worldwide.

“I sympathise with the Commander-in-Chief and our armed forces on this sad development. May the Attahiru family and other affected families be comforted, and their memories be a blessing.”

Former Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki said, “Tonight, as the nation mourns the passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and the ten military personnel that were onboard the aircraft that crashed in Kaduna, I send my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to their families.”
