A military Beachcraft 350 aircraft crashed on Friday May 21 2021 at the Kaduna International Airport, killing all eight persons onboard including the Nigerian Chief of Army staff Attahiru Ibrahim.
Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Accident Investigation Bureau, Nigeria, Akin Olateru, confirmed that the eight persons onboard died.
“Beachcraft 350. 8 souls on board. Unfortunately all dead,” Olateru wrote in a WhatsApp note.
The Nigerian Air Force has however confirmed that there was an accident involving one of its aircraft in Kaduna but did not provide details.
“An air crash involving a @NigAirForce aircraft occurred this evening near the Kaduna International Airport. The immediate cause of the crash is still being ascertained. More details to follow soon,” NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Edward Gabkwet, said in a statement.
Vantage News gathered that the ill-fated Beachcraft 350 aircraft crashed at the airport’s runway about 6 pm.
