President Muhammadu Buhari, has urged religious leaders in the country to unite and support his administration in the fight against various forms of criminality ravaging the country.
Buhari, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, called for continous dialogue between leaders of the two major faiths for peace and stability to reign in the country.
Shehu revealed that Buhari made the call while speaking on the telephone with the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar lll on Friday.
The statement was titled ‘President Buhari urges spiritual leaders to mobilise people of all faiths to fight crimes.’
Shehu said that the Sultan called to celebrate with the President on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the observance of the Eid-el-Fitr.
Buhari also, “commended the Sultan for his effective leadership of the Muslim Ummah and credited him with the unity of the community sustained under his watch.”
