The leadership of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has denied allegation that it is planning to stage an attack on Lagos State.
VANTAGE NEWS reported that the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, on Monday, alleged that IPOB is planning to attack Lagos State.
Reacting, leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, said the allegation is baseless, accusing the police of fueling division.
Nnamdi Kanu, who stated this in a statement issued by its Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, accused Odumosu of working with former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, to fuel division between Yorubas and Igbos.
The statement read, “The public is hereby notified that the allegations that IPOB is plotting to attack Lagos is a lie.
“The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, who made the allegation is a former Chief Security Officer to Bola Tinubu and their intention is to fuel division between the Yoruba and Biafrans; but, it won’t work. This is not 1967.”
