Manchester United on Sunday staged a comeback to defeat Aston Villa 3-1 at the Villa Park.
The win means champions-elect, Manchester City would have to wait a bit longer for the title because Manchester United still has a mathematical chance of dislodging them at the top of the table.
Manchester City would have been confirmed champions if they had defeated Chelsea on Saturday but Thomas Tuchel had other intentions.
The loss would have been insignificant if Manchester United dropped points against Aston Villa on Sunday.
Bertrand Traore gave Villa the lead in the 24th minute before a Bruno Fernandes’ penalty leveled the tie in the 52nd minute. Mason Greenwood put United ahead four minutes later before substitute, Edison Cavani put the game beyond Aston Villa’s reach in the 87th minute of the tie.
Manchester City will be crowned champions if United fail to beat Leicester City on Tuesday.
