Breaking: Gunmen Attack Rivers Police Stations, Checkpoints, Kill Seven Cops

No fewer than seven police operatives lost their lives in separate attacks at checkpoints and police stations in Rivers State Friday night by unknown gunmen.

The gunmen attacked the Rumuji police station in Emuoha Local Government Area where they killed two police officers and burnt vehicles belonging to the police.

A police station along the Rumuji axis of the East-West Road in the state was also attacked by the gunmen.

The unknown gunmen also attacked a police checkpoint at Ogbakiri junction in the Emuoha LGA with two policemen feared killed and a vehicle burnt.

They also attacked a checkpoint of the security outfit called C-4-i along the East-West Road where they reportedly killed three operatives.

Nnamdi Omoni, the Spokesman of the Police Command has since confirmed the attacks but promised to make details available soon.
