President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed worry over frequent tanker explosions in various parts of the country.
The President in a statement issued on Monday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, directed relevant government agencies to address the issue.
Buhari also commiserated the government and people of Benue State over the tanker explosion in Agatu Local Government Area of the state that led to the loss of human lives.
In the statement titled ‘Tanker explosion: President Buhari condoles with Benue people,’ Buhari said that public safety should not be compromised under any circumstances.
“I am worried by the frequency of these tanker explosion incidents on public roads or residential areas.
“Our road traffic authorities and transportation ministries should urgently address this,” he said.
