Amnesty International has said that the strategies adopted by the Federal Government to put an end to rising insecurity in the country has proven ineffective.
While counting the number of high profile abductions in the country, the UK- based international human rights organisation added that the threat to further attacks has led to the closure of about 600 schools in the northern parts of the country.
See tweet below:
Between December 2020 and March 2021, there have been at least five reported cases of abductions in northern Nigeria. The threat of further attacks has led to the closure of about 600 schools in the region. Whatever authorities are doing to tame this tide, it is not working.
