Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has imposed a curfew on Aba and Umuahia metropolis between 10pm and 6am daily.
The curfew which started from Monday, April 5, was necessitated by he recent insecurity in the Southeast.
In a statement, the state Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi-Kalu, said, “This is sequel to security reports received from multiple sources, and informed by the need to continue to protect innocent citizens and residents of the state.”
There has been some clashes between security operatives and some unknown gunmen in the state recently.
The curfew lasts till further notice.
